Community Matters, Inc. ( CMI ) is a faith-inspired, community non-profit organization domiciled in Rankin County. CMI is governed by a diverse Board of Directors. The purpose of this organization is to foster the improvement of the quality of life for families and children in rural communities. The organizational philosophy is that ˇ°community people are best suited to solve community problems.ˇ± To this end, collaboration with community stakeholders, businesses, health and social services, civic and other faith-based organizations is the primary approach used by CMI.

 

The Vision

The vision of the organization is the improvement in the quality of life in rural communities through support for families and children that fosters their health and economic, social, emotional and spiritual well-being. Special emphasis is placed on low-income communities.

 

The Mission

The mission of Community Matters, Inc. is to engage community stakeholders in a collaborative process which identifies critical needs and offers solutions which enhance the well being of individuals, families and the community at large.
